About Us
The coastal villages of Banff and Macduff are situated in the North East corner of Scotland in what used to be called Banffshire and devided by the river Deveron. Our area is probably better known for its whisky distilleries, which are within easy reach of our towns, but it is also well situated for the sport of fly fishing. Some years ago a group of local enthusiasts descided to start a sub devision of the river club due to the growing popularity in stillwater fly fishing and the quality of stillwater venues in our area. The club was formed and is called Banff and Macduff Angling Association Stillwater Branch with the object of helping to promote all interests in the art of stillwater fly fishing for both young and old. The club organises competitions for members, which are normaly run on a blind pairs basis, with a social evening held at the end of the year to give out trophies. Some of the Trout Master stillwaters within easy reach of our area include Artloch, Delgaty, Glen of Rothes, Lochter, Loch Insch and Waulkmill which are all well stocked with hard fighting Rainbows for both the novice and expert fly fisherman.
